This is a true statement of the vote taken at Brinkleys Store District No 4 Calloway County Ky for member to the Legislature L Brinkley 32 given under our hands this 3^rd Feb^r 1862

State of Kentucky
Graves County } On this day W H Watson, L E Wilson & James M Smith all resident citizens legal & loyal voters of district No 4 in Calloway County state of Kentucky appeared before the undersigned & made oath that the officers whoses duty it was to apoint officers to conduct the Election for Representative from Calloway Co Ky in place of David Matherson [expeled] on the 3^rd day of Feby 1862 failed to appoint such officers to hold the Election in district No four in Calloway County Ky and that the polls in said district No 4 in said County of Calloway were not opened by 9 oclock A M on the 3^rd day of Feby 1862 and that being citizens legal & loyal voters of said district No 4 they did open the polls in said district No 4 after the hour of 9 oclock AM on said 3^rd day of Feby 1862 & conducted the Election according to law ^& that the county officers to whom election returns should be made are in rebellion against the state of Ky and national government^ & the result was as is here with reported

The undersigned W H Watson L E Wilson & James M Smith beig sworn as the law directs do hereby certify that we are resident citizens of district No 4 in Calloway Co Ky. legal & loyal voters of said district & that we did on the 3^rd day of Feby 1862 after the hour of 9 oclock A M open the polls in said district No 4 in said County & take the vote of the legal voters of said district presenting themselves for a member of the Legislature from Calloway County ^Kentucky^ in place of David Matherson expelled & at the close of the polls the vote stood as follows for L Brinkley thirty two votes we further certify that the Clerk of the Calloway County Court is in Rebellion against the National Government we further certify that the vote was took in said district was at the regular voting place in said district
