Yours of the 16th ult is to hand and contents noted and in obedience to directions I Give you the names of the Justices of Floyd County as far as remembered also the name of the Clerk and County Judge

The old Justices are all acting in all the districts except in the 2^d 5^th & 8 districts; those districts you Know in which no elections have been held the old Justives hold their offices until their ~~suces~~ sucessors are Elected and qualified see Revised statute Page 431 & 2 and constitution of Ky Page 138 sect 34 I am unable to give you all the names of the Justices before whoever Pension & Bounty Claims have been Seen to; the two above named I remember from hearing their names
I desire your official Certificate to the official Character of each of the within and as many [thus] as your office shows as commissioned in 1861 except in districts N^os 2 5 & 8 in which Elections have been since held Also your official Certificate for John G. Johns the clerk and James P. Harris the C^o Judge this is all the information I am able to give you, hoping to hear from you soon favourably I
