Pleas held before the Hon Jas P Harbeson Judge of the City Court of Louisville on the 22^nd day of August 1865

Be it remembered that on this day the Grand Jury of this Court returned into Court the following verdict against the Defendant Michael Dietz, viz

Commonwealth of Kentucky August Term 1865
vs } Indictment
Michael Dietz

The Jurors of the Grand Jury empannelled and sworn to enquire in and for the body of the City of Louisville in the name and by the authority of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, upon their oaths ~~prescribe~~accuse Michael Dietz of the offense of selling intoxicating liquors to James E Sanders, who is a white child under the age of twenty one years, and that said selling was done without the written consent of the Father mother or guardian of said Sanders -- in said City and State on the -- day of august 1865 against the Statute in such case made and provided

And thereafter on the 9^th day of Nov^r 1865, said Indictment coming on for trial the Defendant plead not guilty, Whereupon a Jury came, who after hearing the testimony and retiring to consult &^c returned into the Court the following verdict viz."We of the Jury find the Defendant guilty as charged in the within Indictment and assess his fine at fifty dollars to the Commonwealth of Kentucky and recommend him to Executive clemency" Whereupon it was ordered that said Dietz make his fine to the Commonwealth by the payment of Fifty dollars and all costs that may have accrued herein and that he be taken
