To His Excellency
The Governor of Kentucky

Your petitioners George Glascock and John Riddleberger respectfully represent to your Excellency, that they were jointly indicted on the 30^th May 1865, in the City Court of Louisville for faro dealing; and on the 7^th June, 1865, a judgment, imposing a fine of $500 jointly against them was rendered.

Your petitioners state that they have paid the part of said fine allowed to the Commonwealth's Attorney, and other costs of the officers, amounting to near $200.⁰⁰ which they feel, under the Circumstances to be quite a severe penalty upon them.

They, therefore beg the interposition of your Excellency's clemency and respectfully, yet Earnestly pray your Excellency to remit that part of the fine which belongs to the Commonwealth; and they will ever pray.
