Govenor of Kentucky

your petitioner G Bryant, would respectfully represent, that your petitioner heretofore was a keeper of a tavern house at Berry's station in Harrison County. and endeavored to conduct himself as a good and law abiding citizen. That through the malicious evidence of an enemy, he was presented to the grand jury and indicted for keeping a gameing house contrary to the statement in such cases provided. That at the Jany Term last of the Harrison circuit Court, he was fined for said offense the lowest sum viz $200^00/100, which the law allows. That the evidence upon which he was convicted for said offense was malicious and wholly untrue. That your petitioner in truth not only did not keep a gameing house but positively and constantly forbid, any gameing upon his premises Wherefore he respectfully prays your excellency to remit said fine.

We the undersigned citizens of Harrison County and neighbors of the petitioner G Bryant, states that we beleive the above statement to be true, and recomend the petitioner as a good and law abiding citizen of the commonwealth.
