The undersigned petitioners would represent that in January 1865. that before ~~County Judge~~ a Justice of Peace of Clay county Lucinda Collins was fined the sum of ten dollars for an Assault committed on the person of Mrs Margret Reid a woman of notorious bad character in the Country; An Execution has issued on the Judgment, And payment will be coerced if not stopped by the Clemency of the Governor

Lucinda Collins is quite a poor woman with quite a large family of small children She stands fair in reputation and has the name of a quiet and peaceable neighbor, we therefore ask that the fine be remited this 26^th April 1865
