To his Excellency Hon Thos E Bramlette

I John P Stubblefield ^Sr^ a resident of the town of Winchester Ky State that I was Indicted in two cases at the May term 1861 in the clark circuit court charged with selling ardent spirits to slaves, which was done by a malignant personal enemy to seek a vent for his spleen and which accusation was false in every particular,

I am an old man seventy five years of age have been engaged in the grocery business in the town of Winchester for upwards of ten years and never had such charges laid to me except in the instances refered to during the whole of said period of time

I am a poor man with a large family to support and persecuted in this instance is why I ask executive interference in the two said indictments

There were two Judgments for $20.⁰⁰ each rendered against Jno P Stubblefield upon the above mentioned Indictments -- The Judgments were rendered at July Term 1863.
