To His Excellency the Governor of Kentucky

Your petitioner the Louisville Transfer Co. states that they are engaged in the business of transporting passengers, baggage & freight between Louisville and New Albany & Jeffersonville, that in the transaction of their business they use constantly about seventy vehicles of various kinds including omnibuses, Drays, & freight wagons that they keep their freight wagons in New Albany and Jeffersonville and are taxed for them at those points -- That New Albany has also levied a tax upon his wagons drays &c kept in this city and run over there, which tax he is now being litigated by your petitioner in the Supreme Court of Indiana your petitioner has taken out lisense from the city of Louisville for all wagons, drays &c kept in said city ^and paid all dues demanded thereon^ -- The city has demanded that weyour petitioner take out lisense for the [...]
