We the undersigned subscribers would most respectfully state to the Hona^ble Thomas E. Bramlette Govr. of the State of Kentucky that on the 28^th day of September 1863 Daniel Pickerel was held by an examining court of Monroe County, on a charge of Larceny to appear in the Monroe Circuit Court, or Monroe Equity & criminal court to answer Said charge. That he was allowed to give bail in the sum of fifty Dollars for his appearance in court to answer the charge to ~~An indictment was~~ W. S. Maxey, Thomas Pickerel, Lendel Hagan, T. M. Copass W. D. Page & J. F. Walden went in his bond as his surety (in his said bond) An indictment was found against Daniel Pickerel on Said charge by the Monroe Circuit court in April 1864. And a forfeiture taken on his bond against his sureties because he failed to appear in said court. Daniel Pickerel Joined the 37^th Regiment of mounted infantry vols. of Kentucky. after the bond was given and before the Indictment was found and was in the service of the army of the United States when the bond was forfeited and was still in same regiment in October 1864 when Judgment was rendered against the securities and is yet serving as a soldier in 37^th Reg. of Infantry vol^s. of Kentucky. We pray you, Governor to intercede in their behalf and release them from the payment of said Judgment. This the 26^th day of October 1864.
