To His Excellency Thos E Bramlette Gov. of Kentucky

Your Petitionir J. J. Faulkner states that he was fined $75. at the ~~present August~~ ^~~March~~ august^ Term ^1864^ of the whitly Circut Court, for failing to put up in his Tavern house a copy of the Tavern rates as fixed by the County Cort of whitly County

He states that when he procured his tavern license in 1863 he procured a copy of the then existing rates that In 1864 the rates were changed, by the Court, of which Change he was unapprised and Consequently failed to procure a copy as fixed by the Court in 1864, in fact, he did not know it was his duty to get but one copy -- He says that it is a very heavy fine, for the offense, that no injury has resulted to the public or to any individual by his omission to discharge his duty. he therefore prays that your Excellency remit said fine.
