To his Excellency Governor Tho^s. E. Bramlett

Your petitioners Jordan Bond & D H Hanks would most respectfully state, that at the July term of the Anderson Circuit Court Judgment was rendered against each of them for $20. in favor of the Com^th on an indictment for playing cards, they would state further that they were ignorant as to when their case would come up, and consequently could make no defense, They State further that it was not their intention to violate any law in any way & that if there were any cards thrown or played it was for amusement, They State that they are men of humble means & that it would favor them & those dependent on them for a living, to be the recipients of your [~~Excellencys~~] Executive Clemency
