Your petitioner Susan Lavin of the City of Lexington Fayette Co Ky -- respectfully represents to Your Excellency that she was fined in two cases at the June Term of the Fayette Circuit Court ^1861^ in the Sum of Twenty Doller ($20) in each case, for the Supposed offence of keeping a disorderly house by permitting an unlawful assembly of Slaves which offence she indignantly denies -- She states truly to your excellency that she is very poor and without the means to pay the above named fines, that she has six children some of them quite young and all depending on her labor for their support and that if she is committed to jail the children must suffer and live upon the charities of the world -- She further states that she is a widow having lost her husband by death sometime since

All of which is respectfully submitted

We the undersigned in consideration of the above statement of facts thinks the case presents grounds for Executive Clemency and respectfully ask your excellency to remit
such fines.
