To the Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky

Your Petitioner James S Cardimore States that he lives in the town of Consilation Shelby County Kentucky that by a Judgment of the Shelby Circuit Court Rendered on the 7^th day of March Inst he was fined the sum of Sixty Dollars for keeping a Tippling House he States that the facts on theas that before he sold: Any Spirits he went to the county Court & Applyed for licens to keep a Tavern in Consilation & said Court Refered him back to the bord of Trustees of said Town Consilation which town is Incorperated

As being the proper Authority to Grant Tavern licens that he aplied to said bord of Trustees & obtained licens to keep a Tavern he paid the Tax Required for said License & upon the Tryal of his case for keeping tippling house it was desided that the bord of Trustees had no Authority to grant Such Licens that said Whiskey was Sold during the time that he had a License from
said bord and in as much as he has not Intenenly violated any Law but has tryed to Comply with the Law made & provided he thinks he Should not be compeled to pay said Judgment Wherefor he prays that Your Excelency will Remit said Judgment

We the undersigns State we where members of the bord of Trustees of Consolation & that the facts as Set fourt in the above Pet are true & that Said Cardimore Sold the Spirits while he had a Licens from our bord for which he was Indited & fined We Joine in his prayer that you May Remit said Judgment
