To His Excellency Gov. Bramlette,
Dear Sir,

In Conseqence of the loss (to W, K Hall. a Citizen of Hickman County Ky,) of Petitions and other documents Signed by Many Persons belonging bothe to the Civil and Military Departments of Western Kentucky, asking you to give him power and Authority to raise a regiment of State troops, to Cooperate withe the Federal Forces there, in Keeping off the Guerillas, and protecting the Citizens from ^the^ lawless bands who are Constantly infesting the Western part of the State of Kentucky, We the undersigned, Members of the General assembly of Ky, respectfully submit to you, that we believe Said W. K, Hall to the Man eminently qualified for the position Sought, -- that from his Known influence and and popularity in that part of this State and Western Tennessee, he Can in a reasonable
space of time ^raise^ a regiment of State troops ^there^ by volunteering alone, -- that he is and will be acceptable to the Military Authorities ^there^ and also to the Citizens in that part of Our State,

Wherefore we respectfully ask you to give him the position Sought, and power required, in the event that you Deem it proper to Call out any State troops in Western Kentucky.
