I send you By Mr Varnon the pay Roll of our Company -- the Reason why we wish to Draw two months ^pay^ at this time is Severel of the Boys want to procure Better Horses= we have Scouted the whole country extending from Big Creek Gapp to Burksville -- and our Horses are much faded -- as far as I am concerned my fine Horse is past going at all= and I am compeled to purchase a Horse to make the next trip -- The country is very Rough all quiet I will write more fully in a short time -- I have got a plan of my own which will be attempted in a few days if successful that will you great satisfaction
