The Civil War Governors of Kentucky Digital Documentary Edition is a freely-accessible online collection of historical documents associated with the chief executives of the state, 1860-1865. Civil War Governors is about far more than the five governors, though. The project records the diverse and largely unknown lives of tens of thousands of Kentuckians, and opens new windows onto the local and personal Civil War stories that have been overlooked.
