Wartime Kentucky
In addition to the primary sources that CWGK makes available to researchers, project staff are also committed to helping users understand Civil War Kentucky. The materials found in this section operate in one of two ways: interpretations and reference materials.
Interpretation
Digital Exhibits, Interpretive Essays, and Subject Guides each interpret some aspect of the Civil War Era in Kentucky. They each help users dig deeper and learn more about the war and connect CWGK documents to broader interpretations about Kentucky between 1861 and 1865.
Reference Materials
Comparatively, the Bibliography, Congressional Districts, and Judicial Districts sections are reference materials. The bibliography provides a list of recommended secondary sources to read in order to learn more about the war, while the district maps offer context on the representatives or judges who appear frequently in CWGK documents.
