Cynthiana
Govr Jas F. Robinson
Dr Sir with the highest degree of satisfaction I address you as the chief executive of Ky: as well from feelings of personal respect, as regard for the public weal, which your selection will secure. The dangers that surround & threaten the State are imminent & great, but I believe you equal to the emergency
You will be heartily Sustained by every man who loves Ky — & by none more cordially than myself
Permit me to introduce to your acquaintance Dr Jno. A. Lair who wishes an appointment in one of the Ky. Regmts
The Doctor is a native of this Co. has graduated in his profession, has undergone an examination before a board of surgeons: rendered prompt and efficient service after the late fight at Cynthiana; and his loyalty & private character are unexceptionable: any service you can render him consistently with the publlic service will be duly appreciated by me
Yrs respectfully
A. H. Ward
