To the Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky --

Your petitioner would respectfully represent to your Excellency that at the Oct Term of the Todd Circuit Court in the year 1860. he was indicted, by the Grand of Said County, (he being a Tavern Keeper) for selling spirituous liquors to Moses Hester and John Hester (they being infants as charged in Said indictments)

Your petitioner says that he did sell to each of Said Hesters Spiritous liquors at the time proven on the trial of said indictments. He Says they were each Twenty or Twenty one years of age and that he did not Know they were under Twenty one, and that he had no intention at the time he sold them the liquor as above stated of vilating the law. He further Says that ^at^ the April term of said court in the ^year^ 1864 Said indictments were tried and upon the finding of the Jury the court rendered Judgment against your petitioner for fifty dollars -- upon each of Said indictments.

Your petitioner ~~would~~ would respectfully ask your Excellency to remit so much of Said Judgment, as you may deem right and proper.
